Web & Partnerships Officer

UNOPS hosts the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership Secretariat (STBP) as of 1 January 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland. The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies. The Stop Partnership is uniquely positioned to support the development and further implementation by partners of the current and future Global Plan, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for the range of partners engaged in the fight against TB.

Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership's mission is to serve every person who is vulnerable to TB and ensure that high-quality treatment is available to all who need it. Our partners include international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups and the private sector.

Under the supervision and guidance of Stop TB’s Manager, Advocacy and Communications, the incumbent within the Advocacy and Communications section of the Stop TB Partnership will be responsible to facilitate, catalyze and coordinate the work of partners and its work is guided by the Operational Strategy 2013-15, which has three strategic goals:

1. Advocate, catalyze, and facilitate sustained collaboration and coordination amongst partners in order to achieve the targets under The Global Plan to End TB 2016-2020: The Paradigm Shift and move towards ending TB;
2. Increase political engagement by world leaders and key influencers to double external financing for TB;
3. Support the development, replication, and scale-up of innovative approaches (including the roll-out of new tools) to overcome systemic barriers in the fight against TB.

Communications Team:

The Communications Team within the Stop TB Partnership is responsible for corporate communications content development, media and editorial support, web, social media, and multimedia (video/audio/digital) activities. The team aspires to create compelling public-facing content to enhance visibility and promote the organization as a lead player in accelerating action in the global effort to end TB.

Under the overall direction of the Manager of Advocacy & Communications, the Web and Partnerships Officer will ensure that the website is upto date with the relevant content, reinforce the overall communication output and support the team with Partnership’s growing advocacy and communications needs where needed.

Under the day to day supervision of the Senior Communications Officer, the Web & Partnerships Officer is responsible for managing the following responsibilities:

Partners Engagement

• Maintain partners directory – approval of new partners and partners data management;
• Develop annual partners survey;
• Expand partners engagement with the Stop TB partnership; and
• Manage and edit partners content for promotion on Stop TB Partnership’s online platforms (website and social media) when appropriate and gather and edit partners promotion when appropriate for corporate publications (Annual Report, Executive Director’s Board Report, etc.).

Editorial Work

• Coordinate and collect communications needs of all Stop TB Partnership teams and establish workflows within the Communications Team for timely and quality deliveries (For example, time and effort needed for the Content Editor, time and effort needed for design, etc.;
• Content management – gather and coordinate content for all platforms – print, digital, social media and purpose it accordingly in order to preserve one editorial and brand approach;
• Manage website traffic - campaigns, PR work and dissemination of content and promotion with partners and Stop TB Partnership’s teams and in collaboration with the Media and Communications Officer;
• Support  the Media and Communications Officer in writing content for all platforms; and
• Support social media work where needed.

Website

• Develop and manage the editorial work plan – weekly and monthly -  for the website to diversify content; manage publication patterns and manage the balance of content types promoted (news, interviews, human stories, technical content);

• Regularly propose innovative content for the website with a good balance between written content, video, image-based stories, etc.;  

• Write and develop content for the website, keeping a 360° view on all STBP needs and strategy; and
• Coordinate technical support and maintenance of the website and plan for future improvements, changes, etc. with a sharp eye on technology.
• Monitor STBP’s representation on external websites and on partner platforms to ensure that the brand (logo) is represented according to its guidelines 

Events

• Establish a list of annual STBP events – Board, Union, Unitaid, Awards, missions, etc. and develop project plans accordingly;
• Manage events organization and roll-out on behalf of the Communications Team;
• Manage event coverage planning on corporate platforms (website and social media) and external promotions (media, partners); and
• Support the Stop TB Partnership and all teams in events planning and organization.
• Manage an inventory of all promotional Communications Material – banners, posters, bags.

Miscellaneous

• Commence development of a Stop TB Partnership style guide – from glossary to brand guidelines;  and

At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in communications, journalism, content development, website development, and/or other related fields.

Excellent, proven writing skills, an understanding of the website related tools, experience in working in a multicultural environment, and a high degree of initiative, reliability, and adaptability.
