The
3MDG Fund was launched in 2012 and is set to continue until the end of 2018.
It’s successor Fund is launched by pooling over $215 million through the
contributions of four bilateral donors – the United Kingdom (UK Aids), Sweden,
Switzerland, and the United States of America – ACCESS will continue promotes
the efficient use of development funds. ACCESS
accelerates progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals and the
achievement of Universal Health Coverage in Myanmar by 2030. In close
partnership with the Government of Myanmar and others, it strengthens the
national health system at all levels, helping poor and vulnerable people
especially from the conflict affected area for improving access to quality
health services.
In 2016 the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS),
in consultation with development Partners, developed the 2017-2022 Myanmar
National Health Plan (NHP) – a roadmap for the country’s response to health
challenges in the next five years.
The ACCESS Fund, aims at supporting the NHP
and fully aligning with its approach. This entails:

Focusing efforts on the delivery of an Essential
Package of Health Services (EPHS) to all populations in Myanmar;

Focusing on equity and on access to Health for
the most underserved populations (remote and conflict areas, marginalized
populations)

Ensuring that all interventions – including
through support to service-delivery – contribute to capacity building and
Health Systems Strengthening (HSS).
UNOPS is Fund Manager for the Access to Health Fund starting January 2019. The Fund is established by a consortium of four donors to support health outcomes in Myanmar. Under the overall supervision of the Fund Director, and direct supervision of the Head of programme, the programme team leader will coordinate and communicate across programme teams and the Fund Board. S/he will work closely with ACCESS programme team and will collaborate with other units/Fund across UNOPS and Access to Health Fund.
