Under the direct supervision of the Communications and Knowledge Advisor, the consultant will assist with evidence-based communications and knowledge management. In particular, the consultant will provide support to the SGP Communications and Knowledge Adviser in the following:

Strategic Communications

  • Support the implementation of SGP’s communication and outreach strategy;
  • Ensure visual branding standards and donor acknowledgements are followed by Country Programmes and partners
  • Maintain consistent messaging and language about the work of the programme
  • Research, write, fact-check and proofread internal and external communication texts, including news articles, reports, blogs, PowerPoint presentations, talking points and other content as required;
  • Support the production of SGP communication activities and products such as publications, videos, fact sheets, brochures and exhibition materials;
  • Help maintain and contribute to the annual editorial calendar;
  • Assist daily media monitoring by scanning online media for relevant news, interviews and articles mentioning of SGP grantees and relevant topics.
  • Provide strategic support to facilitate the participation and promote visibility of SGP in global and regional events

Digital and multimedia content and outreach

  • Design and carry out targeted social media campaigns and track performance of key metrics
  • Write, schedule and track posts on SGP’s social media channels and increase engagement and follower base
  • Help produce regular newsletters and enhance its subscription base
  • Help maintain the newly revamped SGP global website, both by producing and curating content and suggesting technical improvements
  • Multimedia content: produce at least four 2-3 minute videos profiling SGP grantees and develop graphics and videos for social media marketing using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other graphic design services and/or experience in video production (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects);
  • Facilitate the production of one piece of animated video story that incorporates infographics and data visualization;
  • Support the promotion and distribution of key knowledge, research and reporting products produced by SGP.

Knowledge Management

  • Collaborates with SGP country teams and CPMT to help implement SGP’s Knowledge Management Strategy.
  • Contributes to create a learning agenda and culture, and facilitates appropriate dissemination and discussion channels to share lessons, approaches, tools, results, and stimulate dialogue.
