Project Management Support - Senior Analyst (Technical Writer and Graphic Designer)

The United Nations Department of Operational Support, Office of Information and Communications Technology, Operational Support Division (UN DOS-OICT-OSD) is responsible for the delivery of applications that satisfy the requirements of the DOS.

SGITTS in the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of SGITT infrastructure, systems and software applications in support of operational requirements of peacekeeping missions as well as special political missions.

The Technology Development, Design and Planning Section (TDDPS) under the SGITTS umbrella has implemented a range of systems to address the principal requirements of peacekeeping operations and to support and enhance the processes DFS undertakes. 

Technology Training Development Unit is a central pillar of the TDDPS section and acts a center of excellence for the development of sustainable training methods to enhance the adoption of existing solutions that address problems facing field missions.

Incumbent will be part of a team of professionals that have combined decade’s long experience in the UN field missions.

Under the overall supervision of the UNOPS Senior Program Manager, the incumbent works under the direct guidance of the Technology Training Development Unit supervisor and is responsible for the following duties:

Technical Writing and Editing

• Prepare and draft internal communication materials to promote the launch of technology products;
• Produce high-quality, well written, technical content, in English, tailored to educate non-technical audience on new Technologies;
• Proof-read and enhance project content, to improve the overall writing style;
• Introduce a level of consistency, clarity, and impact to a large repository of text-based training materials.

Develop Training content

• Plan and create training curriculum for training projects, based on training requirements, learning objectives within the estimated project completion;
• Simplify training instruction in all training material, to ensure that content is created on time, and easily understood by learners;
• Propose and develop several branding proposals and graphics for the training content, to align content with business needs;
• Create graphic templates to ensure that look and feel of the training content aligns with the product branding;
• Prepare training content to be reviewed by Subject matter experts;
• Performs other duties as may be reasonably required and in line with the incumbent’s scope of services above;

• Bachelor's degree is required.

The SDC is part of the New York Service Cluster that supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as a broadening community of other New York-based United Nations organizations, bilateral and multilateral partners in the delivery of UNOPS mandate in project management, infrastructure management, and procurement management.
