Technical Officer

The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies.

GENERAL

• Contributing to the overall management of TB REACH grants.
• Providing technical assistance focused on the Global Fund to ensure that TB REACH projects are linked to scale-up funding.
• Working with TB REACH grantees to document projects and their outcomes for the benefit of donors and the TB community at large.

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

• Providing technical assistance and M&E support to grantees during country visits.
• Participating in grantee meetings and proposal selection meetings.
• Reviewing Global Fund Concept Notes to ensure case detection strategies encompass TB REACH activities and promote improvements in TB care.
• Facilitating the inclusion of TB REACH grantees in national TB partnerships and Global Fund processes at the country level.
• Traveling to participate in quarterly M&E meetings, if needed.
• Traveling to conferences, other meetings and workshops as needed.
• Writing high quality technical reports.

KNOWLEDGE SHARING

• Creating supplemental materials (e.g. educational videos about TB REACH processes, etc) to accompany the next call for TB REACH applications.
• Developing 1-pagers around specific activities (eg. distribution of incentives, prison screening, etc) across projects and countries.
• Producing background materials and reports to aid in technical consultation, grant selection and steering group meetings.
• Helping to develop fact sheets and other external relations documents.
• Updating the compendium of TB REACH case studies.
• Working with TB REACH grantees to publish the results of their work in academic journals.
• Responding to donor and outsider requests for project information and data.
• Aiding the writing and submission of donor reports.

• Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in public health, development or otherwise related to development and/or health.  OR,
• A first university degree (bachelor's or equivalent) in the subject areas combined with two additional years of relevant experience to substitute for the master's degree.
  
  

• Minimum five (5) years with master's degree or seven (7) years with bachelor's degree of relevant experience in project and grant management for infectious diseases, ideally tuberculosis.

• Experience working with TB programs in one or more high TB burden countries.
• Experience working with TB REACH grantees or directly as a TB REACH grant recipient.

• Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
• Working knowledge of French is desirable.
• Knowledge in other languages common in high TB burden countries is an asset.
