Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Asia, Europe and Middle East Office (AEMO) supports UNOPS offices throughout the region, providing financial oversight of projects, procuring goods and
services and managing human resources.
AEMO helps ensure that projects are executed to the highest standards, providing a shared knowledge base and ensuring that best practices and lessons learned are disseminated between projects across the entire region.
In line with the 2014-2017 strategy UNOPS aims to consistently maximize its influence on the sustainability of the projects it negotiates, designs and implements. The organization sees the opportunity to expand its positive impact on people it serves in ways that are consistent with its core values and sustainability principles.
In coordination with the Sustainability Programme, this opening is designed to position UNOPS as a preferred implementation partner globally by adding value to national programmes. The programme aims at driving the sustainability agenda within the organization and ensuring that it is sufficiently embedded in all its operations from the inception stages of work plans and projects to the full implementation stages, taking into account social, economic, environmental and national capacity aspects in designs and results achieved. The progamme exists to drive and support the changes envisioned by the 2014-2017 Strategy.
Based in the AEMO regional office in Copenhagen, the Sustainability Analyst will coordinate and drive implementation of sustainability across the AEMO offices. The Sustainability Analyst will report to the the Deputy Regional Director, AEMO, with a secondary reporting line to the manager of the Sustainability Programme ensuring consistent drive of strategic initiatives and collaboration between colleagues in HQ and colleagues in the AEMO offices.
