PPP Accounting Specialist

The main responsibility of the PPP Accounting Specialist is to raise and elaborate all information required regarding accounting and tax rules and regulations for the Economic and Financial Analyses (including financial modeling, feasibility analyses) for Infrastructure Projects.

Additionally, He/She should have knowledge and ability to research and work with the main taxes (ICMS, ISS, IRR, IRRF etc) charged in Infrastructure projects and its rules and regulations (tax rate, credit calculation, exemptions etc)

He/She should be a reference in Accounting for the projects and be able to supervise all Accounting and Tax-related activities of the project, keeping Fiscal aspects of the project (including financial modeling) in accordance to Brazil laws and International Financial Reporting Standards - IFRS.

The PPP Accounting Specialist will be part of an interdisciplinary team, including Finance Specialist, PPP Specialists, Legal Advisors, Infrastructure Specialists etc.

Education

• Minimum Requirement: Masters in Finance or Accounting or related areas
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with additional 2 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a Master’s Degree.
• Formal learning in IFRS applied to Infrastructure is a plus

 Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Accounting working with infrastructure projects.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in supporting financial modelling in project finance/ valuation, including:
  • Local financial statements
  • Debt accountancy
  • Shareholder cashflow analysis
• Experience related to one or more of the areas below is desired:
  • Infrastructure projects: road, sewage, rail, urban waste, subway, airports, ports, public lighting and related areas
  • Capital Markets,
  • Financial analysis,
  • Accounting development or supervision in financial modeling
  • Infrastructure PPPs and/or Concessions
  • Balance claim in concession or PPP Contracts
• He/ she must have an Active Membership in Conselho Regional de Contabilidade (CRC)

Languages

• Fluency in Portuguese.
• Working knowledge in English or Spanish (intermediate level)

• Ability to read/ understand financial modeling and provide the required information
• Good understanding of financial reviews.
• General awareness of the infrastructure industry.

• Command of MS Excel to perform financial analysis.
• General knowledge of Brazilian PPP legal framework
