Stop TB Partnership

UNOPS hosts the Stop Tuberculosis Partnership Secretariat (STBP) as of 1 January 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland. The vision of the Stop TB Partnership is to realize the goal of elimination of Tuberculosis (TB) as a public health problem and, ultimately, to obtain a world free of TB by ensuring that every TB patient has access to effective diagnosis, treatment and cure; stopping transmission of TB; reducing the inequitable social and economic toll of TB; and developing and implementing new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic tools and strategies. The Stop Partnership is uniquely positioned to support the development and further implementation by partners of the current and future Global Plan, acting as a coordinator and catalyst for the range of partners engaged in the fight against TB.

Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership's mission is to serve every person who is vulnerable to TB and ensure that high-quality treatment is available to all who need it. Our partners include international and technical organizations, government programmes, research and funding agencies, foundations, NGOs, civil society and community groups and the private sector

Under the direct supervision of the Communications Officer, the Communications Analyst will work on a variety of projects which are likely to include, but are not limited to:

• Proactively support the development of Stop TB’s online presence and activity to increase reach, engagement and interaction – with a particular emphasis on showing the impact of the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility and TB REACH programmes
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of our digital communications work to help ensure we are getting maximum value for web communication products and strategies
• Develop content for the Stop TB Partnership’s social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr etc)
• Support the communications team with the day-to-day digital tools to deliver communication messages
• Keep up-to-date with new trends, developments and opportunities in the digital space and recommend how we can exploit them to help achieve our corporate goals and implement them
• Support the team in formulating a broader communications strategy
• Producing fact sheets, brochures and other communications materials when needed
• Developing broader advocacy messages and communications strategies to support Partnership initiatives

An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent), preferably in, public policy,  communications, media or any other related discipline is required.

A First level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in combination with 2 additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Fluency in English language both written and spoken is a must.

1. Excellent communications skills, with experience of writing in English for news publications or websites. This experience might have been gained through student journalism, an internship or other work experience.
2. Experience using social media to support an organization’s communication’s strategy
3. Excellent knowledge of best practices, latest trends and standards in the Internet space – including the ability to manage a WordPress content management system
4. Experience working on websites containing technical health content
5. Understanding of global development issues;
6. Experience working with Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project etc).

• Experience working on large, complex web sites for corporate, decentralized organizations a considerable asset. 
• Experience designing and implementing communication strategies
• Knowledge of specialist communications software (Photoshop, InDesign, video editing, design packages etc.)
