Thailand Operations Hub (THOH) is
a UNOPS business unit under the UNOPS Asia Regional Office and it was
established to better support, develop and oversee the UNOPS portfolio of
projects in South East Asia and the Pacific.
The Hub comprises two main offices –THOH
Thailand based in Bangkok and THOH Indonesia based in Jakarta and its current
portfolio spans HR transactional services, financial management services,
procurement services and project implementation services currently being
provided to a wide range of other UN entities, INGOs and Governments/Government
agencies in South East Asia and the Pacific.
In Indonesia, the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) and Columbia University’s Earth Institute, as UNOPS main partners, have developed a “Fire Risk System” which contributed to the development of policy frameworks for responding to land and peat fires. This line of work is anticipated to scale up in 2017 through the GAMBUT project (‘Generating Anticipatory Measures for Better Utilization of Tropical Peatlands), comprising capacity building, policy development, technical expertise and knowledge enhancement, and stakeholder coordination. Additionally, UNOPS is engaging with current and other donors and partners on various initiatives in Indonesia.
Reporting to the Head of THOH, who
provides general guidance and supervision, the Office and Programme Manager is
responsible for managing GAMBUT project, managing THOH Indonesia office and
planning, implementing, monitoring and supervising the delivery of all project
implementation activities that include liaison, engagement development and
delivering timely and cost effective services for sustainable results to partners
and stakeholders under THOH Indonesia.
