Assist with the review and validation of database
information
The re-establishment and centralization of a WSSCC contacts
database requires ongoing review, updating and maintenance The intern will work
with the designated officer to test functionality and review data as well as
conduct ongoing spot checks to maintain accuracy and remove duplicate, incorrect
or lapsed entries. This will also involve liaising with staff to make updates
to existing contact information in the database and entering new data
accurately into the system.
Assist
with management of members’ directory and the online SharePoint community
As part of the value proposition for WSSCC members, a
members-only online community has been established on SharePoint. The intern
will assist the designated officer with the following tasks:

Support the administration of new users
and invitation to online community

assist in preparation of training
documents and guidelines as well as other materials

assist with troubleshooting of login
problems

regular monitoring, measuring and
documenting of membership activity and engagement

regularly updating member profiles
with new information received and data collected

moderating communications amongst
members and with the Secretariat
-
liaising with other departments to
coordinate content management and explore new forms of online engagement for
users
-
generate full and segmented
membership lists for various mailings and communications
Assist with the development
of training materials for staff use
As part of
the introduction of the contacts database, training and resources are required
to ensure that staff is equipped with the necessary information and tools to maximize
its use. The intern will work with the designated officer to develop materials
and provide the necessary support to staff in the Geneva office. This will
involve preparing step-by-step guides on database use and assisting with the
organization of training activities such as webinars and related materials.
Provide assistance to the Head of the External Relations,
Communications and Country support (EACC) Department.
Support the Department Head with the
coordination of departmental activities and various day-to-day activities on a
regular basis.

The intern will benefit from learning
in a hands-on international working environment and have the opportunity to
learn about SharePoint functionalities and online engagement strategies. S/he
will also gain exposure to the WASH sector through interaction with other WSSCC
departments and streams of work. This insight would be valuable for someone
looking for a career in the international development, communications or
customer relationship management.
