Purpose
and scope of the assignment
Once the three POTYA finalist projects have been selected,
they are informed and asked to provide video footage and images that correspond
to a specific brief. These materials are then transformed into short videos,
one for each project, that are played at the awards ceremony, attended in
person by HQ personnel and livestreamed to the whole organization.
The Editor will produce the three finalist videos, each about
3-5 minutes in length. The videos are intended for an internal UNOPS-only
audience, but will be widely circulated to all personnel. Examples from prior
years will be provided.
Functional
responsibilities include:
- The Editor will review the
footage and photos provided by the three identified finalist projects.
- Under the direction of IPMG, the
Editor will create a simple storyboard for each video, following a basic
structure provided by IPMG.
- The Editor will edit and produce
the three videos using the provided materials and including supplementary open
source (or bespoke) footage, photos or animations as needed, and meeting the
following requirements:
- All three videos employ the same
overall structure and visual style;
- Visual elements are aligned to the
UNOPS Brand Manual;
- Background music/scoring is added to
the videos where appropriate;
- English subtitles are created and added
to the video; in the case of footage in another language, translated text will
be provided.
- Upon review of the videos by IPMG, the Editor will carry
out any edits required to finalize the videos.
- The Editor will provide both a final .mp4 file as well
as the video project files (in the software programme used, e.g. Final Cut
Pro).
The
Editor will work remotely, but may schedule Skype meetings, and provide earlier
drafts for quick review, as needed with the IPM Analyst.
Monitoring,
Evaluation and Progress Controls
- Videos are prepared in line with the key objectives of
the ceremony/award process
- Timely submission of all draft and final videos
against the set requirements
- Satisfactory feedback (the videos meet UNOPS quality standards) received
by IPMG Director and duly accepted by the Infrastructure and Project Management
Analyst and Support Services Specialist.
