HR Specialist - Diversity and Inclusion

The People and Change Group (PCG) based in UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen supports UNOPS to empower people, drive organisational excellence and manage change across the organisation in order to help the organisation deliver its strategic intent.

We are currently looking for an HR Specialist -  Diversity and Inclusion to strengthen our capacity to retain the best talent from around the world.  The role will responsible for developing HR policies and initiatives that create and foster an open and inclusive work culture at UNOPS. The role will also lead the strengthening of organizational communications to help build understanding of and commitment to Diversity and Inclusion across our workforce. 

The key responsibilities include:

• Under the guidance of Head of Talent Management in the People and Change Group (PCG), contribute Diversity and Inclusion priorities to the UNOPS People Strategy.
• In partnership with other PCG work streams develop, implement, monitor and review processes and procedures (including talent management, learning and development, engagement and culture) that address UNOPS Diversity and Inclusion needs and promote gender equality.
• Proactively foster relationships with leaders across the organisation to drive high impact Diversity and Inclusion initiatives in-line with UNOPS vision and values.
• Develop internal campaigns to raise awareness, influence leaders and personnel and embed Diversity and Inclusion across the organisation.
• Develop metrics for measuring the effectiveness of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives and prepares periodic reports to senior management on the value of such initiatives.
• Review and/or prepare diversity-related communications, reports and surveys.
• Lead research, analysis and evaluation, and quantitative and qualitative research related to Gender and Inclusion.
• Analyse annual People Survey data from Diversity and Inclusion perspective and advise on appropriate responses to any identified issues. 
• Develop Diversity and Inclusion training curriculum in consultation with the People and Change Group Learning Team and other key stakeholders.
• Provide advice, guidance and support on Diversity and inclusion issues to field offices.
• Partner with and support our Country Offices with the implementation of the Regional and Country Gender action plans and play an advocacy role for these changes.
• Develop and implement support tools and mechanisms for diverse populations to establish effective support networks within the organization.
• Create, build and sustain effective external working relationships and networks with key equality, Diversity and Inclusion partners and identify new partners to broaden networks.

Education:

• An Advanced university degree (master's or equivalent) in Human Resources, Development Studies, Gender Studies, Law, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or other related field.
• A combination of Bachelor’s degree with additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years relevant experience working in either or a combination of project management, human resources management, learning and development and/or policy.
• A minimum of 3 years experience working on Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, such as gender parity, diversity and inclusion in policy development, learning and development initiatives or similar areas, ideally within an international HR context, is required.
• Previous experience working in an international environment is required.
• Experience working in the UN and/or with international organisations is an asset.
• Strong experience in research and policy-level analysis is an asset.
• Experience in global gender parity, diversity and/or inclusion communications is an asset.

Language:

• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is a distinct asset
