Education:
Master’s Degree in Civil
Engineering or related discipline/field is required.
Applicants with Bachelor’s
Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with additional 2 years of experience will be
considered in lieu of the Master’s Degree.
Additionally, applicants with Technical/Professional
Diploma with additional 4 years of relevant professional experience in Civil Engineering
involving road construction will well be considered.
Membership in a recognized Engineering Body / Institution is desirable.
Prince 2 Certification (i.e. Foundation /Practitioner) will be an
advantage.
Experience:
A Minimum
of 7 years of experience of road construction in developing Countries is
required.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in training Labour-based contractors or
direct implementation and supervising the implementation of Labour-based works is required.
Candidates with experience working with UN
or other Humanitarian/Development agencies will be an asset.
Candidates with with at least 2 years significant experience
working for UNOPS will be required.
At least 2 years minimum technical proficiency in using MS Office
Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), MS Project is required. AutoCAD is an added advantage.
Language:
Full working knowledge (written and oral) of
English is required.
Knowledge of another official UNOPS language is an asset.
