One of the key initiatives of the ICT Strategy of the United Nations is on analytics and business Intelligence (BI). The Office of Information and Communications Technology (OICT) is providing analytics and BI solutions across the entities in the Secretariat to strengthen operational flexibility in support of the delivery of the entities’ mandates. As the Organization matures in its understanding of the potential of data-driven decision-making, the demand for analytics and BI services is increasing. The role of the Information Systems Officer is to be capable to assess requirements for analytics and BI platforms, deliver relevant analytics and BI solutions, and to contribute to the strategic direction, policy formulation and decision-making in this area.
