The Procurement Analyst as a member of the Category
Management team will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of
effective procurement services to the HQ Business Units for a wide range of
goods and services. These services
reflect best practices in international public procurement, compliance with
UNOPS Financial Rules and Regulations and procurement policy, ensuring
appropriate risk management and obtaining the best value for money.
1. Assist the Category Management Team and its clients in
all aspects of the procurement process:
- Assist and advise the requisitioning units on the
procurement process, including planning, drafting of clear requirements, and
raising requisitions
- Assist the Category Management Team in the remaining steps
of the procurement process in the capacity of procurement official, ie.
Preparation and launching of sourcing and solicitation events in eSourcing,
management of bid submissions, communication with the bidders, participation in the
evaluations, preparation of evaluation reports, preparation and submitting of
the procurement cases for review to Contracts and Property Committee, support
in preparation of Contracts, Long Term Agreements and Purchase Orders and
amendments thereof.
2. Maintain UNOPS LTA database - ensure that all records in
the LTA database are up to date at all times representing the actual portfolio
of UNOPS’ LTAs.
3. Maintain supplier relationships including conducting
supplier performance evaluations. Stay abreast with market developments within
the relevant product and service categories.
4. Maintain client relationships:
- Respond to client requests for information, advice or any
other assistance and coordinate communication with a range of HQ units to
provide a clear, consistent and timely response
- Ensure timely correspondence with the clients to advise
them on the best available solutions
- Provide guidance and advice on UNOPS procurement policies
and procedures to support and assist requesting sections
- Provide timely and effective procurement services and
contract delivery to clients
5. Other
- Represent UNOPS procurement at Business Seminars and/or in
other forums to meet with suppliers when required
- Conduct training / capacity building internally both at HQ
and occasionally in the field.
