The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has hosted the Stop TB Partnership Secretariat since 1 January 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Founded in 2001, the Stop TB Partnership is a unique and innovative global health organization that brings together partners, expertise, funding, commodities, and people-centered services in our shared mission to transform the tuberculosis ( TB) space and end TB by 2030. The Stop TB Partnership is an organization that takes bold and smart risks to serve and amplify the voices of the people, communities, stakeholders, and partners from countries affected by TB . The Stop TB Partnership is guided by three (3) strategic goals to:

1. Advocate, catalyze, and facilitate sustained coordination and collaboration among partners;
2. Support the development, replication, and scale-up of innovative approaches and tools; and
3. Facilitate global, equitable access to TB diagnostics and medicines.

The Stop TB Partnership’s comprehensive range of strategic and technical expertise and our willingness to push boundaries are crucial factors in reaching the targets agreed upon by Heads of States and the TB community-at-large to end TB by 2030.

The Stop TB Partnership’s External Affairs & Strategic Initiatives (EASI) team leads the design and implementation of various public-private sector driven initiatives, platforms, and projects to address systemic barriers in TB and global health. The team is currently working with the Executive Director’s Office, Innovation & Grants team, and the Country & Community Support for Impact team on various special projects related to the optimal roll-out of various digital health technologies.

Since 2015, the TB community-at-large has made major efforts to accelerate the roll-out of digital adherence technologies (DATs) for people-centered care and treatment modalities. To contribute to the further evaluation of DATs in line with the targets set forth in the Global Plan to End TB and the End TB Strategy, an optimal introduction and scale-up of DATs, and further innovation in DATs and supporting/enabling tools, processes and systems, a Global Digital Adherence Technologies Task Force ("DAT Task Force") has been established for an initial period of two years (July 2020-July 2022).

At the Stop TB Partnership’s 33rd Board Meeting, the organization launched the Digital Health Technology Hub (“DHT Hub”) to coordinate and build upon our various digital health technology initiatives, platforms, and projects to ensure that the unprecedented interest, activities, and funding leads to positive and sustainable changes in the healthcare systems and communities and peoples in TB affected countries.

In addition to the above-mentioned special projects, the EASI team, together with various global and in country partners, have conceptualized and implemented two new initiatives and platforms.

Conceptualized at the first TB Innovation Summit in September 2018, which was co-hosted by the Stop TB Partnership, Johnson & Johnson, Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, United Nations Foundations, and World Economic Forum, the Re-imagining TB Care's (RTC) vision is to transform when, where, and how affordable, high-quality, and people-centered care is provided and accessed by people in TB affected countries. The initiative’s mission to lay the necessary foundation and groundwork for the optimal roll-out of digital health technologies.

The Accelerator for Impact (a4i) platform’s aim is to rapidly roll-out digital health technologies for TB and across diseases by providing fit-for-purpose capital and technical support to small and medium-enterprises and start-ups, particularly from TB affected countries, developing digital health technologies that will support the achievement of RTC’s vision.
