This
position is located in the Strategic Support Service within the Logistics
Support Division (LSD), Department of Field Support (DFS). Under the direct
supervision of the UNOPS Programme Manager, the Project Manager (SCM Category
Management) will work with the Business Change Manager and the SCM program
manager. The Project Manager (SCM Category Management) will perform the
following duties:
•
Conducts the performance of spend and risk analyses to develop an optimal set
of categories of categories for different products and services aligned to LSD
core support functions and structure based on industry best practice and
benchmarks.
•
Develops procedures and tools to assist with market analysis, demand analysis,
category strategies and sourcing strategies that support multiple solutions for
each category.
•
Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with all project
stakeholders, ensuring
adequate
levels and timeliness of communications are maintained.
•
Works directly with the stakeholders to translate project requirements into an
Implementation Project Plan, which specifies the goals, strategies, activities,
schedules, and allotment of resources for each phase of the project. Ensure
that activities are in line with the LSD principles.
•
Conducts project meetings and produces standard project documentation.
Proactively evaluate project activities, build contingency plans, propose
corrective actions and monitor issue resolution to mitigate risks.
•
Develops timely project status reports and provide Quality Assurance for all
project deliverables.
•
The incumbent is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative
instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and
that of UNOPS.
