Inventory and Disposal Assistant

The UNOPS Peace and Security Centre (PSC) is a principal service provider in the field of mine action with the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), UNDP, UNICEF, Governments of mine-affected countries and other mine action partners. The Centre is responsible for administering, providing support and providing oversight of the day-to-day management of the Project Field offices, both according to the client requirements and in line with UNOPS rules and regulations. It is headed by the Centre Director who has the overall authority and accountability for the performance of the Peace and Security Cluster on behalf of its clients.

The Mine Action Office in South Sudan is based in Juba and it supports the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) as well as the national demining authorities in coordinating Mine Action activities in South Sudan.

Under the direct supervision of National Logistics Officer the incumbent will perform the following tasks:

• Assist in maintenance of the UNMAS Asset Management system on a daily basis.
• Support in conducting a proper RIR (Receipt and Insection Report) for new equipment and inventories.
• Assist with issuance of equipment to various end users (contractors, staff, office etc) in accordance with equipment loan procedures. Ensure all relevant documentation is completed and update Asset Management Database accordingly.
• Assist to conduct full annual stock check, as well as multiple random spot checks.
• Assist to update an inventory management system for non-expendable items as required.
• Support the maintenance of repair/maintenance and loss/damage system for UNMAS assets.
• Assist in preparation of all required paperwork for disposal of assets, and provide support in asset disposal.
• Perform other related duties as required.
