HR Assistant (maternity leave replacement)

Based in UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, the UNOPS Integrated Practice Advice and Support (IPAS) unit provides strategic project implementation advice and operational support services to field offices under the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECR), Asia Regional Office (AR), Middle East Regional Office (MR), Africa Regional Office (AFR), the Peace and Security Cluster, and UNOPS HQ units for HR and Legal support. 

IPAS provides support in the areas of Procurement, Legal, Finance, Human Resources and Admin. By collecting and analyzing information on interactions with several offices, IPAS creates training plans and makes recommendations for more efficient project implementation processes.

IPAS Human Resources is a team of currently 9 persons, looking for a dynamic colleague to replace a team member who will be on maternity leave from early July until end December 2018.

Under the guidance of more senior colleagues, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients based mainly in UNOPS Headquarters (Copenhagen) and will manage the recruitments in this portfolio from beginning to end, as well as the contracts, benefits and entitlements of the personnel. 
Your tasks will involve liaising with hiring managers on recruitment plans, job descriptions, as well as organizing technical assessments and interviews. You will interact on a daily basis with the personnel under your portfolio, to answer their questions and help them understand their contractual benefits and entitlements. You will be their dedicated focal point from onboarding until separation.

We are looking for a good communicator and team player, with a high sense of client service and a great ability to prioritize and multitask. You have a good attention to detail and come to work with a positive attitude.

• Secondary education required. A university Degree is highly desirable and can compensate for some of the required years of experience.
• Fluency in English is essential; fluency in French, Arabic or Spanish would be a distinct asset.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, specifically Agresso will be a distinct asset.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in operations support, preferably supporting a human resources management area is required with a high school diploma.  
• UN experience or experience from other international organizations or NGOs is highly desirable.
• International exposure is a requirement (candidates must have worked or studied in another country than their home country for a minimum of one year to meet this requirement).
