The United Nations
Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) is a strategic
public-private partnership between UNEP and the global financial sector. UNEP
FI works with over 200 financial institutions, signatories to UNEP Statement of
Commitment by Financial Institutions on Sustainable Development, and a range of
partners and organizations, to embed environmental, social and governance considerations in financial
decision-making. Through its training programme, UNEP FI promotes the adoption
of sustainability practices
by financial institutions and the finance sector at large and builds capacity.
UNEP FI’s sustainable finance training services are
part of its effort to carry out the mission to "identify, promote, and
realise the adoption of best environmental
and sustainability practice at all levels of financial institution
operations”. The primary aim of these services is to raise awareness and to
build capacity in sustainable finance amongst UNEP FI members and other
financial institutions, as well as relevant stakeholders in governments, NGOs
and Academia, especially in developing countries and emerging markets. In particular UNEP FI
requires a consultant to work on its activities in the Training Department. UNEP FI undertakes the
