Under the overall guidance & direct supervision of the Project Manager (PM); the M & E Officer will be responsible for the following functions:

  • Develop a time-bound performance monitoring plan in conjunction with relevant local participating partners, for the collection of data and evidence-based reporting;
  • Perform regular review on project progress in the implementation and results against the strategic objectives and indicators as well as promote and support quality assurance of all project interventions;
  • Facilitate monitoring of crosscutting issues by all local participating partners at all levels;
  • Follow up with local participating partners and stakeholders regarding overall project progress and progress towards results indicators;
  • Conduct regular field visits to project sites to oversee progress;
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports highlighting achievements, challenges and lessons learned as required;
  • Create and regularly update GIS mapping of all interventions under the project implementation areas; 
  • Manage and screen the status of all transactional, finance and procurement processes including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, contract management, legal considerations and payment conditions, contractors, performance evaluation, and risk assessment;
  • Support the PM in updating the project risk register, issues log, highlight reports, and other requirements as per the UNOPS PMM;
  • Support the PM in implementing proper monitoring and control processes to successfully measure outputs, indicators and milestones;
  • Identify and report variations in sub-projects implementation and develop timely and feasible recommendations to rectify any variation;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
