Located in Copenhagen, the Capability Development Officer, works under
the Partnership Practice Group, and is responsible for rolling out UNOPS
corporate approach to Business Development, to build capabilities and people
skills globally within the area of Business Development and Partnership
outreach.
This includes establishing a training curriculum together with corporate
training department, building on a well-established Business Development
methodology that has been introduced to the organization. Become an internal
expert and “go to person” for Business Development capability building,
coordinate training plan with internal regional Business Development trainers,
identifies global roadmap for roll out to country offices.
In doing so, the Capability Development Officer is guided and supervised
by the Partnership Practice group Management, also located in Copenhagen. The
incumbent will be expected to work with a productive and collaborative
approach, with colleagues at all levels and across all offices of the
organization.
The Capability Development Officer, will be responsible for improving our people
and organizational capabilities, develop global training tools related to
partnership management and business development. This responsibility also includes
bringing external inspiration, innovation and best practices to the
organization. Key functional responsibilities include:
Establish UNOPS Business Development Training
Methodology
•
Develop detailed
training curriculum for Business Development based on existing methodology
•
Develop targeted global
training plan
•
Develop road map
for roll out, coordinating with other internal stakeholders to optimize global roll
out efforts
•
Liaise with
external company that has developed the methodology that is applied at UNOPS
•
Act as global
subject matter expert and “go to person” for country offices with regards to
Business Development capability building and people skills building
•
Follow up on
training implementation
Roll out UNOPS Business Development methodology
•
Become a certified
Business Development trainer in UNOPS chosen methodology
•
Coordinate other
internal trainers delivery of country training
•
Conduct Business
Development training for field based business developers and GPSO clusters
•
Conduct Business
Development “light” training for Project Managers in the field
Role definition and Skills Mapping
•
Establish
standardized role definition for the country office Business Development position
in UNOPS
•
Develop clearer
and standardized TORs (Job descriptions) within business development
•
In collaboration with People
and Change Practise Group, conduct current skills mapping assessment and plan
for development for Business Developers in our country offices.
•
Initiate additional targeted
training to enhance capabilities by topic, practise, region,
Talent Management within Partnerships and Business Development
•
In collaboration with
People and Change Practise Group develop clear,
visible and flexible horizontal and vertical career paths for our country
office Business Developers
•
In collaboration with People
and Change Practise Group ensure readiness
to induct available talents from our regions and countries and work to fill BD
job positions internally
•
This includes
creating visibility of talents and competencies across organization to enable
smooth job and project rotations
