The Government of Ukraine, through the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, requested UNOPS in Ukraine in cooperation with UNICEF to support implementation of the state program on enhancing social protection and responsible parenting in Ukraine to be launched in September 2018. The mentioned initiative aims to contribute to health, safety and wellbeing of children in Ukraine. The specific objective of the initiative is procurement and distribution of baby boxes containing basic early child care items within the specification of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine to all oblasts (regions) of Ukraine. The initiative was approved and announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Hroysman at the end of May 2018, while the first deliveries of the baby boxes were expected in September 2018.

Under the direct operational supervision and guidance of the Project Manager, and in close collaboration with other personnel, the Project Associate will work from the UNOPS’ office Kiev. S/he will provide administrative support to the Project Team and other functions as delegated by the Project Manager, ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work.

The Project Associate is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the project in so far as all systems and functional interfaces are concerned and provides services to the Project Team in support of project delivery. He/she is expected to meet and exceed the organizations performance and delivery goals.

Reporting to the Project Manager, the incumbent performs and may supervise personnel in delivering, technical and administrative support services, covering specialized and non-specialized processes and transactions for discrete work areas in administration and logistics, ensuring efficient, client oriented and effective service delivery. The Project Associate promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach, ensuring utilization of office resources in a most cost-effective manner.
