The Strategy and Transformation Group

The Strategy and Transformation Group (STG) was established in 2024 and reports to the UNOPS Chief of Staff. STG role is to formulate corporate strategy based on beneficiary, partner and organizational needs and internal capabilities, and supporting the design and implementation of transformation initiatives and other organizational changes in alignment with that strategy.

Role of the Change and Transformation

Located in the UNOPS HQ in Copenhagen, the Change and Transformation is part of the STG. UNOPS has committed to a series of strategic and administrative reforms, including a reset of the organizational strategy. The role of our unit is to work globally to enable the  strategic transformation and organisational changes within UNOPS.

Our work can involve internal consulting for solution design, change enablement as well as transformation office management.

We are a small team of experienced organisation development, change and transformation professionals, who can manage initiatives and change at all levels. Our team brings experience, energy and partnership to a full range of change management and transformation services including: organization design, organizational development, solution design facilitation, transformation management, as well as facilitation of behavioural change towards new ways of working.

Role of the Management Specialist

The Management Specialist is supervised by one of the Senior Advisors but works on an assignment basis, across the transformation portfolio, driving and supporting solution design and/or change management activities for the specific initiatives.

We are looking to fill a minimum of two positions in our team, one ongoing and one for a time bound period, subject to the transformation work plan and funding.

We are looking for self-driven and experienced professionals who can think holistically and are capable of delivering solutions in a complex and multicultural environment. The role will suit a critical thinker who excels in identifying root causes of organizational problems and who can work with degrees of ambiguity.

This is a global role and will involve a combination of responsibilities ranging from advisory services to hands-on solution design and implementation, often as part of multidisciplinary project teams. The incumbent will be delivering assignments which require a mixture of competency areas, e.g.

  • identifying and shaping new opportunities in organizational practices, systems and structures
  • managing the development and implementation of specific project deliverables
  • adopting change management techniques and people-centred approaches to embedding change; facilitating change readiness and change enablement for global and often cross cutting transformational initiatives.

The role has a strong focus on (internal) client relationship building and navigating complex stakeholder dynamics  - at all levels.
