UNOPS Amman Multi-Country Office (AMMMCO) is recruiting for this position: Head of Programme (HoP) based in Amman, Jordan (Family duty station).

Middle East (MR) Region
The Middle East Region (MR) has the overall responsibility for the effective management and performance oversight of UNOPS activities in the region. MR provides leadership in positioning UNOPS in the region through strategic partnerships and liaison with key regional organizations including inter-agency coordination mechanisms, inter-governmental bodies, development banks, specialized organizations, and donors. Currently, UNOPS operates in six countries across the Middle East: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Palestine (State of).
Amman Multi-Country Office (AMMMCO)
The Amman Multi-Country Office (AMMMCO) is responsible for developing, delivering, managing and implementing a mid- to large-sized portfolio of projects and/ or programmes in Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Syria and Lebanon.
At UNOPS, office portfolio size is determined by a mix of internal and external drivers, including count and value of engagements, personnel headcount, security- and project-related risks, and prevailing humanitarian and geo-political contexts.
AMMMCO provides strategic direction, operational support, delivery oversight and assurance of the excellence of organizational processes and quality standards across Jordan, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon and Syria.
About the Role
The Head of Programme (HoP) reports directly to the AMMMCO Director who provides direction and general supervision.
The HoP is responsible for programme development planning and preparation and for managing all stages of programming to achieve results in the area/s of responsibility.
The HoP is a leadership role which contributes to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the competencies and position of UNOPS in sustainable project management and services to partners, stakeholders and UN system partners
