The project is being implemented through the Government of Zimbabwe and in partnership with UNESCO. The project aims to stimulate sustainable, inclusive tourism development and the cultural heritage of Zimbabwe through enhancing the World heritage Site (WHS) and strengthening national capacities to manage and enhance the WHS, as well as promoting interlinkages with the local economy. One of the deliverables of the GZDP is the construction of a new Visitors Centre at the Great Zimbabwe WHS in Masvingo.
