ICT Development Advisor (ICS-11)

Proactively engage with business owners to ensure corporate leverage of existing platforms and continuous improvement of tools based on user feedback

Facilitate product and business owners understanding and appreciation of ICT development approaches such as Scrum

Service business owner requests for enhanced functionality existing or development of new specialized tools

Facilitate business owners shaping of Product vision, Business case and pre-product backlog and assess technical aspects in view of UNOPS ICT strategy. Particularly opportunities for leveraging current and future Atlas capabilities

Facilitate technical interpretation of the voice of the customer enabling seamless conversion to product backlogs

Assist business owner’s (or assigned delegate’s) assessment of business value to product and pre-product backlog

Develop preliminary cost-estimates for different solution options in view of current and potential technical capabilities

Ensure anchoring of product ownership with relevant product and business owners

Manage business and product owner relationships and enable their understanding appreciation of technical possibilities and constraints

Engage with the Business Product Owner of ICT Products to ensure a successful transition of the product from development to implementation and user uptake

In conjunction with ICT Services, analyze trends in user experiences in order to prioritize fixes and enhancements to ICT Products ensuring their continual improvement

Good understanding of how new technologies can be utilized to make the organization more effective

Strong working knowledge of PeopleSoft core applications and underlying data structure

Appreciation of self-financing business model and understanding of the UN system

Ability to display and promote integrity and business ethics; demonstrate good judgment, trust and open communication; ability to work in teams effectively, collaborative behaviour and team spirit.

Global mind-set with sensitivity to diverse culture/workforce and a high level of energy and enthusiasm for contributing to a self-financing service organization within the UN system.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills to persuade and influence others.

Experience with implementing quality assurance systems and certification programmes desired.
