The
Project Finance Analyst reports to the Head of Project Finance who provides broad supervision and guidance. The
role contributes to the finance vision of being a true business partner to
UNOPS projects, by providing advice on costing and pricing matters. This includes assisting with UNOPS cost
recovery mechanisms and policies and supporting field operations with project
finance accounting. The role is part of
a centre of excellence, providing seamless, appropriate, relevant and
pro-active project specific reporting.
The role includes collaborates on project implementation and closure
with the Integrated Practice Advisory Service (IPAS) and supports outreach and training
on all things related to project finance.
Support
the roll out of UNOPS cost recovery policy for locally managed shared services
Provide
capacity building on the management of locally managed shared services
Establish
reports to support oversight on the recovery of locally managed shared services
in engagements as well as for offices
Gather requirements and coordinate with IT team to ensure that IT systems
are configured to support the requirements of implementing and managing the
shared services at local level
Contribute
to drafting of project budgeting templates for UNOPS service lines that meet
donors and project managers requirements and facilitate reporting
Support the maintenance of UNOPS costing tools
Contribute to and maintain an integrated project budgeting
toolkit
Establish
reports to support oversight on UNOPS project budget statuses (overspent/underutilization)
Support
the documentation of requirements from donor agreements in regards to
budgeting, cash flow, cost recovery, accounting, reporting and project closure.
Support
the collection, documentation and maintenance of finance knowledge in the new
UNOPS knowledge management platform in areas of expertise.
Prepare
notes, guidelines, and replies relating to or arising from implementation of
project finance procedures.
Document
best practices as a result of UNOPS ERP implementation (oneUNOPS).
Provide
input to policy documents that are under the authority of the Project Finance
team
Support
finance management on other financial matters as required
Impact of Results
The
results have an impact on the overall efficiency of UNOPS in financial
resources management and success in introduction and implementation of
operational strategies. Accurate, thoroughly researched and documented
financial information, timely and appropriate delivery of services ensure
client satisfaction and enhance UNOPS credibility in use of financial resources
