The People and Change Group (PCG)  is based at the UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen. Change Management

The Change Management unit within PCG  is a small team of change management and organizational design & development practitioners, enabled by a business analytics unit. We are the custodians of corporate change management and OD standards, frameworks and tools and we provide hands on project support and professional services within UNOPS. Our overall goal is to ensure that UNOPS has organizational structures that are fit for purpose, future proofed and built to deliver, with people that are inspired to innovate / reimagine ways of working and readily able to transition with agility and confidence.

The Role

Under the guidance and mentoring of the Change Management Specialist, the selected candidate will play a key role in supporting the organization in building and nurturing change management capability across UNOPS as well as contributing into and supporting the planning and implementation or change management interventions to local and/or corporate projects. This is a global role which supports UNOPS’ effort in focusing on the people side of change – including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, mindset and organizational structures. The role will support the development of internal toolkits as well as deliver change interventions designed to enable the benefits of change and ensure personnel are equipped with the appropriate knowledge, skills and tools to adopt the new ways of working.

• Engaging with stakeholders in order to identify and understand their needs and local complexities, with the focus on improving the overall change journey experience and maximizing change benefits

• Undertaking a variety of best practice research and benchmarking to help bring new thinking into the UNOPS change management framework.

• Managing work packages in support of developing and evolving UNOPS change management and OD framework, toolkit and associated materials.

• Managing activities focused on expanding the change management capability across the organization, e.g. managing the change network, contributing to the development and the roll out change management courses etc.

• Contributing to the dissemination and sharing of best practices and lessons learned for knowledge building and promoting of best practice.

• Identifying connections and impacts to help embed UNOPS change management approaches into UNOPS policies and procedures, learning and development

• Developing and maintaining constructive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across the organization.

• Developing  business cases, proposals, plans, project communications strategies and materials, stakeholder engagement plans, learning schedules and other project documentation, as part of a multi-disciplinary project approach

• Delivering relevant work packages using project management methods and UNOPS approach to change and OD, taking responsibility for overall progress and escalating issues as necessary.

• In support of project implementation. designing and facilitating various workshops - as appropriate, whilst increasing the capacity for change management within project teams.

• Organizing targeted interventions, to overcome resistance to change.

• Establishing solid working relationships with the project board and other key stakeholders, advising on issues that may impact the achievement of the desired change outcomes.

• Liaising with internal PCG colleagues as well as other teams and units for gathering of input and expertise from subject matter experts - as needed

• Conducting post-implementation monitoring and follow-up

• Supporting the planning and delivery of internal workshops and training, as well as internal communications efforts and platforms.

Education:

• An advanced degree preferably in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Economics, Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, International Relations, or other related field.

• A combination of Bachelor’s degree with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirements outlined above.

• Professional Change Management certification (i.e. APMG or similar) is an asset.
  Project Management certification (i.e. PRINCE2, MSP) is an asset.

Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in managing change is required

• Experience of working in a global context is required, preferably in a role focused on business transformation

• Proven track record of deploying effective project management approaches, including project planning, stakeholder management, network management, risk analysis, monitoring and evaluation is required

• Experience of working in an operational field role would be an asset

• Experience in organizational development would be an asset

• Experience in a management consulting role would be an asset

Language:

• Fluency in English is required.

• Fluency in another UNOPS official language (French and / or Spanish) is a distinct asset

Contract type: International Individual Contract Agreement (I-ICA)
Contract level: IICA 1
Contract duration: Open ended - subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
