In
close coordination with the AHDR team and the IT Manager in Beirut, the
incumbent is responsible for the following duties:
I. Manage the planning and administrative functions of the
library and information services

Update and
manage convenient, accessible library and information services.

Evaluate
the library database and advise on the available means to update it.

Manage the
cataloguing, classification, and maintenance of library material.

Be
responsible of time management by ensuring the team (interns) is using time
efficiently and identifying priority activities and assignments, adjusting
priorities as required, allocating appropriate amount of time and resources for
completing work, etc.

Develop
clear goals, both short-term and long-term, that are consistent with agreed
strategies.
II. Manage the organization of library materials

Perform
data-entry following the established categorization.

Develop the
special indexing systems and files for the additional collections of books,
serial publications, documents, audiovisual, and other material that have been
received.

Maintain
cataloguing procedures.

Advise on
entering cataloguing data into the library's automated system.

Update the
fields of data entry
of the web-forms tool already developed for the database, when necessary and
inform the team accordingly.

Verify the accuracy of the
data entered, and make necessary corrections to information.
-
Supervise the cataloging and physical processing of new material.
-
Perform other related duties
as required.
