Network Security Specialist

Identify and define system security requirements. Assist in the preparation of information security policies based on the organization's standards and corporate policies.

Assist in infrastructure system design including mobile device management. Install, configure and maintain network security infrastructure and solutions in accordance with UN standards and requirements.

Perform infrastructure security audits and penetration tests. Perform and document threat and risk assessment. Advice on preventative and corrective actions to take.

Provide full incident response (Prepare, Identify, Contain, Eradicate, and Recover) with the lowest possible impact on business operations. Provide Lessons Learned.

Provide Tier 3 support and expert advice

Education:

Master’s degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering or related field, with 2 additional years of relevant work experience.

Experience:

Minimal 7 year experience is required in managing, designing, and developing business critical security infrastructure and policies and experience in all aspects of network and information security including PKI, encryption, certificates, etc; in-depth hands-on experience in implementing and supporting mobile device management solutions.

Desirable:

Experience with a project management methodology such as PMP, PRINCE2, etc.

Knowledge of the ITIL framework.

Experience in customer services and the ability to provide a professional interface with the user community.

Good interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail.

Proven ability to work under pressure.

Ability to work outside normal working hours if required

Industry recognized certifications such as CCSA, CCSE and CCISP are an asset.

Language:

Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

Based in Geneva, the Europe and Central Asia Regional Office (ECR) supports UNOPS offices throughout the region through: management, financial and programmatic oversight of global and country-specific portfolios, clusters and operations centres, including hosting services; fund and management advisory services; project implementation; procuring goods and services; and managing human resources.

For example, within the United Nations Development Programme, the Cluster works with the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support and the Office of South-South Cooperation.

The cluster also supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as a broadening community of other New York-based United Nations organizations in the delivery of project management and implementation services
