Systems Admnistrator - Windows

• Install, configure, maintain, administer and support Windows Server Operating Systems and services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Server and other server applications such IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
• Administer user accounts, printers and print servers. Install, configure, maintain, administer and support Windows servers. Monitor and analyse the performance of the servers and services.
• Perform software updates, scripting, testing and support. Perform 2nd level desktop troubleshooting.
• Generate reports to determine performance issues arising from all relevant factors such as hardware, software and network. Further, monitors application and analyses system logs to evaluate security vulnerabilities
• Perform complex hardware and software configuration tasks such as creating standard server and desktop images.

Education:

High school diploma. Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or relevant certification is a plus and may replace for some of the minimum required years of experience

Exeperience:

• Minimal 5 year experience in installing, configuring, managing and administrating Windows Server in large and complex environments is required.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows server administration and scripting is required.

Desirable:

• Experience with a project management methodology such as PMP, PRINCE2, etc.
• Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
• Experience in customer services and the ability to provide a professional interface with the user community.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work outside normal working hours if required.
• Industry recognized certifications such as MCSA or MCSE Is an asset.

Language:

Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.

The cluster also supports the United Nations Secretariat, as well as a broadening community of other New York-based United Nations organizations in the delivery of project management and implementation services
