Conference Room Technician

• The Conference Room Technician is responsible for the operation and quality control of Video, Audio and other data, entering, being used within, and leaving the conference rooms. The services associated with Conference Room Technician(s) include but are not limited to: operation and management of microphone management simultaneous interpretation (simultaneous multiple languages) systems, operations and management of robotic camera systems, operation of multi-channel mixer, microphones, amplifiers, digital signal processors and speaker systems, sound reinforcement, voting systems, subtitling systems, audio and video routing and switching. Operation of all peripheral video and audio generating, capturing or transmitting sources, videoconferencing, VTC bridging, data entry and management roles for the Media Asset Management platform.

• The position, reports to the relevant contract owner UN officer, and requires close interaction and coordination with meeting owners, meeting participants, event organizers and event coordinators; providing technical and instructional advice to clients and end-users on the proper operation of conferencing equipment. This Technician must be able to work successfully both supervised and unsupervised

Education:

High school diploma. Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering or relevant certification is a plus and may replace for some of the minimum years of required experience.

Experience:

5 years relevant experience in Conference Operation, event delivery and operation and/or broadcast is required.

5 years of relevant experience, in the area of audio/visual operations, including operating related video and audio equipment.

Basic understanding of electronics and signal flow is required.

Language:

Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage
