Video/Audio Network Operations Technician (VTC +)

The Video/Audio Network Operations Technician is responsible for the operation and quality control of videoconferencing and audio conferencing equipment and infrastructure.

The services associated with Video/Audio Network Operations Technician include but is not limited to: configure and operate video/audio conference codecs, video/audio conference bridges, video/audio conference network and endpoint management software, associated connected equipment and ancillary peripherals during the provision of video/audio conference services to the conference rooms, meeting rooms and event spaces.

The position reports to the relevant contract owner UN officer and requires close interaction and coordination with meeting participants and coordinators; providing technical and instructional advice to clients and end users on the proper operation of the video/audio conference equipment. He/she must be able to work successfully both supervised and unsupervised.

Education:

High school diploma is required. An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Engineering or relevant certification is a plus and may replace for some of the minimum years of required experience.

Experience:

5 years relevant experience working as a Video/audio conference Technician is required

Experience or related certification with video/audio conference endpoint and bridge configuration, operation and quality control is required.

Familiar with monitoring and metering of video and audio for quality control is required

Familiar with broadcast facility communication systems (i.e., intercom, hybrids and telephone); and  with video and audio routing and distribution is required.

Language:

Fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage
