In March 2017, the Secretary General made a pronouncement on International Women’s Day: “Denying the rights of women and girls is not only wrong in itself it has a serious social and economic impact that holds us all back. Gender equality has a transformative effect that is essential to fully functioning communities, societies and economies.” The goal of the UN System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity is to create a working environment that embraces equality, eradicates bias, recognizes geographic diversity and is inclusive of all staff.   UNOPS aspires to be an equitable workplace leader. To that end, we are looking for a consultant who can assist us in evaluating UNOPS performance against best practices and recommend ideas to promote positive lasting developments in UNOPS workforce globally.

UNOPS and Gender Parity

With over 11,000 personnel spread across 80 countries, UNOPS offers its partners the logistical, technical and management knowledge they need, wherever they need it. Gender is a key focus area in the UNOPS Strategic Plan 2018-2021. Recently, several initiatives have been launched to better increase focus and prioritise gender parity in our internal workforce, such as the establishment of a senior Gender Advisory Panel. In January 2018, the UNOPS People and Change Group introduced the new UNOPS Gender Parity Strategy.
