Editing should be done in
accordance with formal English editing style and guidelines on documents such
as newsletters, web content, standard operating procedures, manuals, reports,
and other documents related to the implementation of the Global Fund grants in
Myanmar. This will support efficient external and internal flow of information
towards effective reach to its internal team, donor, public, partners, and other
UN agencies. It will consist of the following duties and responsibilities:
- It
is important to carry clear reading at a level of understanding appropriate to
a range of target audiences–donors, Myanmar Health Sector Coordinating Committee (M-HSCC), Global Fund (GF)’s
secretariat, Ministry of Health and Sports, International and Local NGOs, UN
agencies, Community-based Groups and beneficiaries.
- Grammar,
style, format and the content should be edited as well as the structure of
content for a logical flow of ideas, and
consistency in terminology, capitalization, spelling, abbreviations, repetition,
data, acronyms, notes, and references.
- Proactively
take measures to ensure content cohesiveness, and confirm consistency and
accuracy giving attention to detail figures presenting achievements over the
years with logical discussion and analysis.
- Restructuring
text where necessary to convey clear, succinct and convincing messages with knowledge
of the terminologies used.
- Edit
the captions, footnotes, headings for selected photographs, charts, and other
graphic elements appropriately with sound knowledge of the purpose of the subject
highlighted.
- Seek
relevant feedback for clarification to make sure relevancy, accuracy and logical
organization of ideas.
- Final
proofreading of the designed layout version for publication.
- Submit
the final version for publication in a word file and/or PDF file.
- It
is important to be obliged to work within the required deadlines and be
available for comments and corrections.
Deliverables
The editor should deliver edited
documents (newsletters, web content, standard operating procedural manuals,
reports and other relevant documents) as assigned, upon demand, and within the
agreed and required deadlines.
Monitoring
and Progress Control
The progress on the
edition of the required documents will be monitored for timeliness, accuracy,
relevancy, and quality.
