UN-Water is the United Nations inter-agency collaboration mechanism on all freshwater related issues including sanitation. UN-Water is comprised of 31 Members from the United Nations system and 39 international Partners. Through UN-Water the United Nations act as "One UN" on water related issues. The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is the legal and administrative host of the UN-Water Inter-Agency Trust Fund.

• Research technical and policy content for corporate communications products
• Develop outlines and drafts for circulation and incroporate multi-stakeholder comments ;
• Write, research, edit and proofread policy products such as speeches, articles, background briefs,  forewords;
• Develop and update corporate outreach material and tools (newsletters, blog posts, flyers, brochures, annual reports, social media material)
• Develop and update technical communication material and tools (brochures, blog posts, campaign material and social media material).
• Assist with highlighting, extracting and simplifying key messages from technical products to ensure comprehension for a non-technical audience;
• Collect information and feedback from various UN-Water Members and Partners, analyse and provide responses and edits in line with the multi-stakeholder dimension of the inter-agency coordination mechanism;
• Produce texts for infographics to highlight success stories and including voices of  multi-stakeholders
• Review documents for internal consistency;
• Craft messaging frameworks and concepts for UN-Water's global campaigns;
• Provide strategic inputs for planning documents on communications related aspects and inputs for communication processes;
• Research themes, write and edit content for UN-Water's global campaigns (World Water Day, World Toilet Day and Water Action Decade), such as film scripts, factsheets, campaign material;   
• Research and source UN-Water Members and Partners’ campaign related content and adapt for news features; 
• Develop and edit fact content for UN-Water's digital channels;
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Advanced University Degree in communications, journalism or in related field
• University Degree (bachelor degree / first level) with a combination of 2 additional years of relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of the advance university degree.

• Proven writing, editing and proofreading skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills. 
• Knowledge of international development and the field in which UN-Water works 
• Excellent grasp of strategic communication.
