UNOPS serves as an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the
successful implementation of its partners' peace building, humanitarian and
development projects around the world. UNOPS provides project management, procurement
and infrastructure services to governments, donors and UN organizations. UNOPS
has over 30 years’ experience implementing and supporting projects globally,
including in some of the most challenging environments, while striving to bring
international best practices into all projects. UNOPS tailors its support to
the needs of its partners, and can deliver and offer expert advice or manage
entire projects or programmes. Through our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark
and a network of offices, we oversee activities in more than 80 countries. With
sustainable design and construction techniques, UNOPS ensures buildings are
architecturally appropriate for the environment and culturally sound. An
extensive portfolio of successfully completed projects showcases UNOPS’
capacity to produce effective designs for schools, hospitals, bridges, water
supply services, courthouses, police stations and waste management facilities
among others. UNOPS provides infrastructure support through assessments, design
and planning, construction management, operations and maintenance, and advisory
services. UNOPS procures around $800 million worth of high quality goods, works
and services each year on behalf of partners, which include: the United
Nations; donor and recipient governments; intergovernmental and
non-governmental organizations; international and regional financial
institutions; foundations; and the private sector.
