The Communication Associate will carry out the following duties, in full
compliance with UNOPS rules, regulations and policies:
1. Development and management
of Communication Hub contacts
●
Develop
and maintain a database of local journalists / press contacts in Rakhine State
●
Develop
and maintain a database of LIFT partners and the international community in
Rakhine State
● Support the building of good relations with relevant
stakeholders for the Communication Hub, including government agencies, civil
society organizations, private sector companies, UN agencies, INGOs, research
institutes and media.
2. Communication Hub activities
● Organize of press conferences and press briefings for
LIFT partners
● Co-organize media facilitation for donor visits and
field visits
● Support the development and facilitation of in-house
communication trainings for LIFT partners and other UN agencies, INGOs and
local CSOs
●
Follow local
media for humanitarian and development related content
● Support the development of ideas for new and
innovative ways of communicating with the local population
●
Identify possible
training opportunities for local field offices staff of the international
community
● Advise on cultural sensitivities
● Liaise on a daily basis with the Social Media team
● Contribute to communication outputs to share
information about LIFT-funded projects and results achieved, in liaison with
LIFT communication team in Yangon.
●
Suggest stories
and topics from the work of LIFT partners in Rakhine for publication in local
media
3. Other duties:
● Support the participation and/or representation of the
Communication Hub at events and technical meetings as required, including RCG meetings
and relevant cluster, sector or technical working group meetings
● Assist with interpretation and translation of
documents in the Myanmar language
●
When needed, join
LIFT monitoring visits or donor field visits of LIFT funded projects
●
Other duties relevant
to the implementation of the Communication Hub
