Academy Development Consultant

• Supporting the preparation of appropriate mechanisms and instruments to facilitate the establishment of new academies in selected countries where none exist while providing capacity enhancement support.
• Organizing and/or participating in substantive in-country discussions, meetings, and fora to represent the initiative so as to facilitate the creation of the new science academy.
• Reporting on the status of implementation of the work programme regularly as scheduled by NASAC and the Technology Bank’s programme requirements.
• Preparing reports for presentation to the core-group of scientists so as to initiate and support programmatic tasks and processes, as well as coordinate planning and implementation of stipulated budgets.
• Supporting in-country recruitment of academy’s leadership and membership once an election criterion and nomination process has been established.
• Supporting the academy leadership and strategic partners on possible resource mobilization efforts for purposes of project implementation and sustainability in the longer-term.

• Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field, an advanced university degree is an advantage.
• Secondary education with additional 4 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an bachelor’s degree.

• 3 years of experience in a similar position with a good track record for networking and project management.

• Fluency in oral and written French and English is required.
