Facility Management Assistance Project
UNOPS received funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development “DFATD” of Canada to implement the project as a 3-year technical assistance project to build sustainable capacities of the facilities management function at the Palestinian High Judicial Council (HJC) in Ramallah, West Bank, Palestine, state of.
The outcomes of the project are: i) Increased access for men, women, girls and boys to effective and equitable justice services provided by HJC, ii) Improved equitable access and effective functioning of HJC facilities for all users and iii) Improved stewardship of equitable gender accessibility and environmental sustainability by HJC facility managers and operators.
The project began in April 2018 with an in-depth diagnostic of the HJC’s facilities management organizational capacity and performance, which was followed by a series of stakeholder meetings and workshops to refine the project objectives, plan and performance indicators, create a shared vision, and buy-in from HJC’s leaders. The project is due to close end in April 2022.

The overall objective is to mitigate the adverse effects of COVID-19 and ensure uninterrupted basic services to Palestinians in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem. The project will address critical and prioritized needs in several sectors including health, social protection, vocational training and education to contribute to the stabilization efforts among vulnerable communities facing economic constraints due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The project began in March 2021 and is due to close at the end in March 2022.
