Background AUMCO

The Austria Multi-Country Office (AUMCO) was set up in August 2019 as a part of the UNOPS Europe & Central Asia Region (ECR). Specifically, AUMCO aims to enable achievement of Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement through global programmes and tailored interventions in the Balkans, South Caucasus, and Central Asia, focused on:

● Infrastructure

● Procurement 

● Project Management (full service, back on track)

● HR and Transactional Services

● Grants Management 

● Technical and Advisory Services

UNOPS in Albania 

UNOPS Albania is aimed at providing efficient and cost-effective implementation services on behalf of partners to support the Government of Albania achieve its national priorities through citizen-oriented programmes and projects. UNOPS Albania office, based in Tirana, operates under the operational support of the Austria Multi-Country Office (AUMCO). The Office was established in early-2021 to support, develop and oversee UNOPS’ growing portfolio of projects in the country. The office currently provides implementation services to several projects on Cultural Heritage and Healthcare, where UNOPS works closely with development partners and the Government focusing on culture and healthcare sectors. The aim now is to expand UNOPS' support to Albania.
