The HR Specialist will work in the People stream within the People and Change Group, which comprises HR Policy, Talent Management, Outreach and Learning and Development. The focus of this role will primarily be on Talent Management and HR Policy. The role will support the workstream's leads and lead the delivery of specific projects and ad hoc work to ensure smooth delivery of PCG projects.
The role will be full time home-based and the incumbent might be requested to travel to HQ occasionally (approx. 1-2 times). Candidates interested in an assignment without mission travel to HQ may also be considered.
The incumbent will be expected to work during the core working hours in Copenhagen Time Zone.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is a temporary role for 6 months to support PCG’s mission and strategy. The role has a global scope and will play a key role in shaping UNOPS People practices.
Under the overall supervision of the Policy Stream lead, the main functional responsibilities will include:
1. Support Talent Management Initiatives
Contribute to implementing Talent Management projects, in areas such as Succession Planning, Senior Recruitments, Performance Management, Career Development and Diversity and Inclusion.
Provide SME advice in the area of Talent Management, including to senior management and other relevant stakeholders on HR matters.
Lead initiatives around capacity building of global workforce for People initiatives, incl. design, planning and facilitation of thematic training/ workshop as required
2. Support HR Policy work stream
Provide HR policy advice to HR professionals and to managers in PCG.
Coordinate the implementation of HR projects assigned to the HR Policy stream.
Draft communication materials on HR decisions, HR policy changes, HR initiatives or other related topics and communicate those to management and personnel, providing guidance as needed
Conduct needs assessments, review of best practices, and other analysis in order to provide guidance on HR policy changes or application for personnel management, assessing and anticipating HR needs to provide value-added consultative service to management on human resource-related issues.
Review HR processes from a compliance point of view.
Draft replies to audit questions or opinions.
Coordination of key activities among key stakeholders. Act as a focal point to other relevant HR Units as needed.
3. Project Management
Ability to prepare/follow a project outline, including but not limited to setting relevant and achievable milestones and indicating required resources etc. Actively drives projects and ensures the milestones are met in line with the set performance indicators.
Ability to lead projects, which would include collaboration with various global stakeholders and internal PCG teams.
Provide communication material and design campaigns around Talent Management Projects.
Apply and maintain HR analytic parameters and data to inform decision making.
