This assignment will support the People and Change Group, and particularly UNOPS’ Internal Grievances (IG) function as well as PCG’s role as corporate coordinator of UNOPS activities in the area of Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse & Sexual Harassment (PSEAH). Regarding IG, the intern will further help structure IG’s case work, help develop IG’s outreach portfolio and strengthen its data capturing efforts. The intern will also support the team in conducting and recording fact-finding interviews and in the implementation of the recommendations of an external review process. Regarding PSEAH, the intern will support PCG’s coordination efforts. 

Furthermore, the intern will conduct research with regard to best practices/lessons learned in these areas in other UN agencies.


At the end of this internship, the successful candidate will have gained:

  • Exposure to UNOPS corporate human resources processes and activities;

  • Knowledge of best practices in other UN agencies in the concerned areas.

  • Specific experience in the workplace conflict resolution work of the Internal Grievances function across UNOPS duty stations;

  • Exposure to activities related to the protection of personnel against sexual harassment and the protection of beneficiaries against sexual exploitation and abuse;

  • Exposure to an international work environment;

  • Exposure to UNOPS headquarters.
