Partnerships Analyst

The Partnerships and Liaison Group (PLG) drives the development and expansion of new and existing partnerships, in collaboration with UNOPS headquarter groups, regions and countries. PLG consists of a network of liaison offices spread globally and a cross cutting partnership development support team based in Copenhagen. 

PLG’s Liaison Offices support the management of relations and development of partnerships with UNOPS key global partners with offices in Amman, Brussels, Geneva, London, Tokyo, Washington DC, and Nairobi and supports partners such as the World Bank, the European Union, France, Germany, Japan, the UK, the United Nations Environment Programme, the Global Fund, USAID, national governments and others. 

The partnership development support team based in Copenhagen provides a range of cross cutting partnership development support across the organisation.

Under the direct supervision of the Partner Analytics Team Lead and the overall guidance of the Director of Partnerships, and the Head of Partnership Development, the Partnerships Analyst’s responsibilities primarily include: 

1. Prepare briefing materials for UNOPS Executive Director’s high-level engagements with partners and participation in external events

• Prepare talking points, background notes, speeches, and other briefing materials for the various engagements of the Executive Director (e.g.: meetings with partners, UN agencies, and other international organizations, as well as participation in external events and relevant UN inter-agency platforms such as the General Assembly and the Executive Board, among others). 
• Liaise with relevant stakeholders (HQ units and field offices) for their inputs into the briefing materials, ensuring inputs are provided in a timely manner and meet the expected quality.
• Research, review, analyse and summarise substantive information for the Executive Director’s briefings, ensuring the required quality and deadlines are met. 
• Coordinate with the Executive Office on the Executive Director’s planning for meetings and missions and ensure required briefing packages are developed.

2. Support partnership resources development and internal communication efforts

• Support, when relevant, the updating of PLG intranet content for improved access to partnerships development resources.
• Contribute to developing and continuously improving knowledge products, including support materials and guidance documents for colleagues in partnership functions.

3. Support to the PLG Director and senior management

• In collaboration with the Partner Analytics Team Lead, contribute to high-level analysis, reports, and presentations for the Partnerships Director (e.g., participation in the Quarterly Business Review, Global Leadership Meeting, and other senior management meetings).
• Assist the Director of Partnerships in managing liaison, regional, and field offices through meeting preparation and logistics coordination. 
• Support onboarding and exit efforts for new joiners and personnel.
• As required, assist the Director in administrative tasks including, but not limited to, expenses, travel, budget, HR follow up, procurement, meeting coordination, and external communications.
• Ad hoc support as needed.

Education:

• Advanced University Degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent), preferably in development studies, international affairs, political science or related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or
• A first level University degree (Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent) in combination with 2 additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

Experience:

• 2 years of prior experience working in international development or humanitarian organizations is required (with an advanced university degree);
• Demonstrated experience working in the following areas is an asset:

- Preparation of high-level briefing materials for senior management

- Analysis and reporting

- Partnership development

- Project or programme support

• Demonstrated ability to summarize complex and detailed information clearly and concisely is required;
• Knowledge of and experience with Google Suite/Workspace applications (Docs, Slides, and Sheets) and/or MS Office programmes is required;
• Experience with data analytics concepts and tools is an asset.

Languages:

• Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
•  Knowledge of another official UN language is desired.
