Head of Unit - Partnerships Development

1. Leadership and support to senior management:

• Manage the HQ based teams of (1) analytics; (2) partnerships outreach and development; (3) HR partner services.

• Provide strategic advice to the Director PLG and other members of senior management on partnership matters, in support of corporate priorities and contributing to increased positioning and growth

• Serve as the Partnerships policy owner: review and advise on submissions to the Engagement Acceptance Committee as the policy co-owner for partnerships engagements; continuously review and update, in close collaboration with the legal team, the policies and delegations of authority related to partnership engagements. 

2. Partnerships development and outreach

• High-level engagement and outreach with key partners through major events 

• Guide the team in the development of and review partnership-related resources, ensuring relevance and impact, in line with the Corporate Strategy and partners’ priorities

• Maintain a high level of engagement and strong knowledge in the Partnerships Community of Practice through the provision of trainings, webinars, and internal guidance notes

• Ensure timely and effective coordination of briefing packages for the Executive Director’s meetings, to be cleared by the Director of PLG

3.  Partner analytics

• Lead the design, roll out and analysis of the bi-annual Partner Survey; lead the implementation of the Corporate Action Plan in response to feedback received from the survey in close coordination with all the relevant units and regions

• Ensure  high-quality and timely reporting, incl. forecasting, on engagements and partner relations at regional/liaison office level Oversee the analysis on global trends and key indicators related to UNOPS partners and ongoing engagement activities 

• Produce and disseminate strategic internal reports on partners to support decision making at senior management level 

• Provide intelligence and strategic analysis on key partners to support meetings, projects, and negotiations 

4.  Management of the HR service line 

• Manage the relationships under the global agreements for HR services provided to partners  while managing the team to address partners’ needs and requirements 

• Explore opportunities for expansion of services to partners, while continuously seeking improvements in the regular service delivery

•  Lead on negotiations of global HR agreements with key partners

Education:

• Masters in business administration, operations, policy, legal, international affairs, or related field

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in partnerships and/or resource mobilization in the the area of international development sector
• business development and in establishing cross-sector partnerships, negotiating commercial and legal agreements 
• public relations to manage high-level and diplomatic relations 

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in English required. 
• Knowledge of another UN official Language would be considered an asset
