Under the overall guidance of the Hub Director and under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Specialist, the Partnerships and Communications Analyst will work within the Partnerships Unit and in close collaboration with the Program and Services teams. He/She will have strong organizational and communication skills and will have a proven ability to work and act under pressure in challenging environments.

The Partnerships and Communication Analyst will ensure:

Partnerships Engagement

  • Actively participate in the management of partnerships, including with governments, intergovernmental organizations, United Nations entities, international financial institutions (IFIs), NGOs and the private sector

  • Write capacity statements and contribute to the development of proposals, logical frameworks and expressions of interest for new projects, in accordance with UNOPS mandate and project management methods

  • Support and manage the development of new engagements using the systems in accordance with UNOPS organizational requirements

  • Contribute to the engagement review process by ensuring the quality of information for new engagements and by facilitating the necessary authorizations and approvals

  • Participate in meetings with potential partners and follow up on discussions

  • Contribute to the preparation of briefing documents (talking points, briefing notes) and presentations for meetings and discussions with partners

  • Contribute to the organization of field missions of the Director of SNMC and the Partnerships Specialist.

Strategic Planning and Positioning of the UNOPS Office in Senegal

  • Contribute, with the Partnership Specialist in the development of the SNMC strategy in the sub-region, including country action plans and monitoring of its implementation with project offices

  • Analyze the trends in external aid, the priorities of donors and the development strategies of the countries where the SNMC operates

  • Support the development of investment initiatives with high social impacts, including meetings and research on potential partnership and project opportunities.

Communications and Knowledge Management

  • Ensure the review of external communication products (brochures, information documents, newsletters, etc.)

  • Contribute to the development and management of a communications plan for SNMC

  • Monitor project results in order to contribute to the communication of results and lessons learned from SNMC projects

  • Represent the SNMC office in communication and knowledge management initiatives

  • Participate in SNMC's digital presence on the UNOPS website and intranet

  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of project communication plans

Team management

  • Contribute, with the Partnerships Specialist, to the management of the Partnerships Unit teams

  • Participate in the recruitment of interns and new members of the Partnerships Unit

  • Acting in the absence of the Partnerships Specialist

  • Supervise members of the Partnerships Unit and/or complete tasks as needed by the Partnerships Specialist.
