The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners' peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. Mandated as a central resource of the United Nations, UNOPS provides sustainable project management, procurement and infrastructure services to a wide range of governments, donors and United Nations organizations. With over 6,000 personnel spread across 80 countries, UNOPS offers its partners the logistical, technical and management knowledge they need, where they need it. By implementing around 1,000 projects for our partners at any given time, UNOPS makes significant contributions to results on the ground, often in the most challenging environments.

Background Information - Job-specific 

In Ukraine, UNOPS supports since 2017 the national government and partners  by implementing projects that span sectors from the rule of law, social protection, demining, to emergency response and security. Many of the projects include infrastructure components. The projects are funded by the EU, the Governments of Japan and Canada.

Martial law and a state of war were introduced in Ukraine on 24 February 2022, and the general mobilisation of all Ukrainian males between 18 and 60 years old was ordered, while the Ukrainian airspace was closed to civilian users.

By October 2022, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights reported 15,592 civilian casualties in the country - 6,221killed and 9,371 injured. The UN estimates that 18 million people in Ukraine will need relief and protection.

By October 2022, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) stated that 7,678,757 refugees from Ukraine had been registered across Europe, and in addition 6.2 million persons had been internally displaced.

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Administration Senior Officer, the Administration Senior Associate (Fleet Management) forms part of the Support Services of Ukraine Country Office. They will manage a team of drivers, performing a range of specialized, technical and general functions relating to Fleet management, transactions for administration and logistics related to running fleet, while ensuring efficient, client oriented and effective service delivery.

The Administration Senior Associate (Fleet Management) promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of the UACO fleet in a most cost-effective manner.
