Head of Unit - Compliance

• In cooperation with the Risk Management Unit, lead a compliance risk assessment process and ensure regular updating
• Oversee the development and implementation of a risk-based compliance framework and comprehensive compliance program
• Lead the establishment of an annual compliance management plan
• Provide guidance to establish a secretariat for an organization-wide compliance steering committee to ensure aligned and consistent roll out of the compliance framework
• Reflect external good practice, particularly as it relates to the UN system, within the compliance framework and program

• A Master's degree preferably in risk management, law, international relations, business administration, finance and accounting or other relevant fields is required.
• A bachelor's degree combined with two (2) additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree.
• Internationally recognised certification in compliance and/or risk management is an asset.

• At least seven (7) years of compliance experience, preferably in an international setting, is required.
• Experience in developing and/or managing compliance programmes is required
• Experience in reviewing compliance frameworks is an asset
• Experience in developing policy management and internal standard operating procedures is an asset
• Experience in risk management standards (e.g. ISO 31000) in the context of compliance risk management is an asset
• Experience in advising on organizational change is an asset
• Experience in investigative and auditing activities is an asset
• Some experience in the UN system organizations and/or a developing country is desirable
• Experience of working in a multicultural environment is an asset

• For staff positions only, UNOPS reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a lower level than the advertised level of the post.
