In the search for solutions to reduce this increased poverty, the Government of Central African Republic (CAR) requested and obtained funding from the World Bank (WB) and the French Development Agency (AFD) for the Projet d'Urgence de Rétablissement des Infrastructures et de Connectivité en Centrafrique (PURIC-CA).

UNOPS has been selected by the Government of CAR and its financial partners as an Implementing partner  for the implementation of  sub-components 1.2 and 1. 3 of PURIC: the restoration of road connectivity in the North-East of CAR (Ndélé - Ouadda - Ouadda Djallé - Birao - Am Dafok axis) and the rural connectivity in the Vakaga region including the completion of the road works on the Kaga Bandoro - Mbrès - Bamingui - Ndélé axis, transferred from the PCR (Rural Connectivity Project). In this context, UNOPS is seeking to fill the position of  Principal Engineer.

The Principal Engineer provides technical assistance and expertise with reference to the construction works as well as field coordination, ensuring high quality and consistency of work, for the a/m construction works . The Principal Engineer promotes a collaborative, client focused, quality and results-oriented approach in the Project Team.

The Principal Engineer will report to the Senior Project Manager.
